In recent years, the Province has undertaken a wide range of development projects in response to the growing needs of its communities, spanning social development, education, formation, healthcare, pastoral ministry, and ecology.
In education, the Province has invested in the construction, expansion, renovation, and improvement of schools and educational facilities, with particular attention to rural areas where resources are scarce and where the Province's schools largely serve poor and marginalized children. Hostel facilities and educational support programmes have also been developed to help disadvantaged children continue their studies.
Formation projects have received considerable attention as vocations have grown, with new and improved formation houses providing the accommodation, study spaces, and community facilities young friars need for their integral formation. Social development projects — hostels, educational assistance, tuition centres, and housing assistance — remain especially important in mission areas such as Basen, Malom Noatoli, and Nanesera, where access to educational and social facilities is limited.
In healthcare, the Province supports initiatives providing medical assistance to those unable to afford adequate treatment, reflecting its commitment to the sick and vulnerable. Pastoral and missionary projects — including the construction and renovation of churches, chapels, friaries, and pastoral centres — strengthen the Province's presence in mission areas, enabling better pastoral care, evangelization, catechesis, and community service.
An emerging and increasingly important dimension of the Province's work is ecological development, inspired by the Franciscan concern for the Integrity of Creation — including tree planting, environmental awareness programmes, responsible use of natural resources, and the development of more sustainable communities and institutions.
Many of these projects require significant financial resources beyond the Province's ordinary income, and the Province remains deeply grateful to the benefactors, funding agencies, and well-wishers in India and abroad whose generosity makes this work possible.
